Last night I was com­pletely blown away by the open­ing cer­e­mony of this years games. Sit­ting and watch­ing a 100 meter long LED screen roll out along the ground was very impres­sive, but what impacted me the most was the entire world com­ing together as one, unit­ing around one com­mon event and sym­bol: the olympics and the dove.

The dove is of course the sym­bol of the IOC, but also the sym­bol for the holy spirit. The whole world (also, the whole of com­mu­nist china) united around the sym­bol of the holy spirit: no coincidence.
